I love a good routine and as you may have guessed, when it comes to my hair, I don’t mess around. Just like any routine, I’ve modified my nighttime hair routine over time, but I wanted to give you all a peak into what it looks for 2023.
We are constantly jumping on the next skincare trend, applying countless serums and lotions to our face and neck, but often our scalp gets overlooked. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a sucker for a good skincare regimen, but it’s equally important to treat our scalps with the same amount of love since that’s the foundation for good, strong hair.
Okay, so let’s get into it.
Step 1: First, I start by brushing my hair out with my Ensemble HAIR detangler brush. This brush it well ventilated and is the perfect way to prep your hair for the rest of your routine. Gently start from the bottom and work your way up (emphasis on the gently because you only have one scalp).
Step 2: Next, I’m pulling out the Ensemble HAIR Score brush! The score has dense, boar bristles which is perfect for what we’re trying to achieve in this step. Rock the Score along your scalp and pull the trapped oil, dirt and product through your hair away from your scalp. I like to start at my natural part and then section small pieces all the way around. Think of this as your scalp exfoliator and ensure it’s part of your routine at least three times per week.
Step 3: This next step confuses people, but I promise you it works no matter what kind of hair you have. Apply oil to the ends of your hair to hydrate while you sleep. Take 1-2 pumps from mid strand all the way through your ends. Then, take your Detangler brush again and pull the oil through. Overnight, your hair will absorb all that yummy moisture!
Step 4: Okay, now let’s talk about scalp oil. This oil will help tighten your pores, promote growth and strengthen your hair overall. I typically use one dropper full around my temple area. It’s very light weight and I just use my fingers to rub it deeper into my scalp. So many women worry that the oil will make their hair greasy, but I promise you the benefits of hair/scalp oil are endless!
Step 5: Now for the grand finale, mastering the pineapple style. In other words, take your hair and put it in a loose scrunchie on top of your head so that your hair is completely out of your face and out of the way while you sleep.
Okay, I know that may seem like a lot, but it’s only FIVE easy steps and it’s worth every second. Plus, I linked everything you need to be successful! Our hair is only as healthy as our scalp which is only as healthy as our habits and routines. Just like any part of our bodies, the more you invest in taking care of it, the stronger it will become.
You deserve to have strong, healthy hair for the rest of your life, and it can all start with implementing a nighttime routine.
