My Top 3 Go-To’s for the “Day After” Hair

Think about that moment right after a good blowout. It’s almost as if you walk into the salon as yourself and out of the salon as a Victoria’s Secret supermodel. You know what I mean? It’s literally magical. Then you go to sleep that night with a fluffed pillow, trying not to move so that you don’t mess anything up because you need that blowout to last at least the next 3 days. Well friends, that’s usually not realistic. That being said, I have perfected the “Day After” hairstyles so that I don’t have to re-wash my hair and can still take advantage of the volume from my blowout. Here are a few of my go-to’s. I promise these are lifesavers!

Snap Clips

Oh how I love a good clip! In fact, they’re quite the trend right now. Adding a large, colorful snap clip to your post-blowout hair is the perfect way to maintain the volume and style for a few days to follow. I love to pull the front of my hair back on one side and clip it, but you can also pull both sides up and clip more towards the back of your head. Regardless of what you decide, this will help give you a trendy style, even the morning after some stellar bedhead. You can find cute options on etsy, revolve and asos.

Scrunchies

It’s crazy that everything comes back around. I mean people are wearing bell bottoms again! Well, the same goes for scrunchies. Not only are they a cute way to pull back your hair a couple of days after your blowout, but it’s actually better for your hair then a tight, elastic rubber band. It’s much more gentle and will cause less breakage over time. Scrunchie companies are popping up everywhere and are available in different styles, textures and prints. Check out etsy and amazon for cute, affordable options. And more specialized companies like SHOPBOP and Dew Edit.

Hats

Sometimes clips and scrunchies are just not enough, especially when you’re on day 3 or 4 post blowout. In this case, I’m all about a good hat. And when you live in Arizona, your hat makes you look cute, completes your outfit and blocks the sun. It’s a win-win. What I love about hats is that you can really wear them with anything. Whether it’s a sundress, shorts and a t-shirt or a short, flowy romper, a hat can always be a great addition. Especially if it saves you the extra hour in the morning that you would normally have to spend blowdrying your hair. You can find hats anywhere, but I’ve found a few gems at Francesca’s (they also have great clips and scrunchies), Nordstrom and Target.
