I’ll preface this post by telling you that this is not an ad. I always want to give you my honest opinion on new hair tools that come on to the market and this one seemed too good. I was so excited to try the Revlon hair dryer brush and I must say, it did not disappoint.
So first of all, it was a bit larger than I expected (not ideal for tiny hands, but it’s easy to grip which is a plus). If you watch my Youtube tutorial, you’ll see my husband has a lot of fun editing this part…
Second, this is a powerful little thing (as you can probably hear when you watch the video). It takes a bit longer to dry than my blow dryer, but it eliminates the need for a round brush, which is amazing. And it rotates while blow drying so that you don’t have an awkward grip the entire time. It’s obviously super user friendly and in my opinion, that’s what makes it so attractive. I constantly hear my clients say that they can’t blow dry their hair the way I do and that’s because blow drying your own hair is hard! This is a pretty darn good alternative.
Third, it gives me the most amazing shape. It creates substantial volume at the root and tapers off near the ends for a sweet, soft look. That being said, the heat settings on this tool are no joke. I could literally feel my hair heating up while I was blow drying it. My advice would be to use the cooler settings around your face so that you don’t torch those delicate pieces and then use the higher heat for the rest of your hair. If you’e looking for even more volume, add mouse to your wet hair before you begin drying.
Lastly, I can’t believe how easy this was to use. My hair is naturally pretty straight, but this tool would be perfect for my clients with curly hair. It literally gives you the sleek and smooth look that most of try to achieve with our straighteners and curling irons. This eliminates the need for them, which will ultimately lead to healthier hair.
All in all, I am super happy with this product and I’m so excited to recommend it to my clients! Although it still forces you to apply heat to your hair, it’s much less than blow drying, straightening and curling. It’s truly a game changer and I’m confident you’re going to love it. Remember, before using any kind of hot tool on your hair, find a good heat protectant (oils are the best and safest). This is a great alternative, but it still requires protection.

Happy drying!
Hello Jess, I bought myself one awhile ago. I loved it. HOWEVER, I found that it pulled out alot if hair because you do have to do so many passes. At 51 years old and already losing too many hairs. .I can’t afford to lose that much more. So I thought I better stop using it. I am a narural blonde who ‘had’ really thick hair…but I guess ageing has dirrerent plans for me…haha. not so blonde anymore..not so thick. I love following you and would love your advice / consult :but I am a single broke canadian girl who lost her partner to Suicide; so I just live vicariously through all the other women in the world!! 😭
Hey Laura! I’m so sorry for your loss and everything you have gone through… Hair definitely takes a toll when there has been trauma or a lot of stress so that could be a factor in your hair loss or it being brittle. As far as the Revlon goes I definitely kept mine on low heat because I noticed how hot it gets! If you still have it then I would give that a try. I would also suggest getting your bloodwork done…. if you search my blog for “5 Factors that cause brittle hair” then you’ll see why I suggest the bloodwork at a time like this!
Thank you for following along!
